Aleksandra Sykulak
*screenwriter

Aleksandra is a BAFTA-winning screenwriter working across fiction, animation and games.

Aleksandra was born and raised in Warsaw and is currently based in London. Her writing occupies the space between tragedy and comedy – always touching on real, tangible feelings, but often through obscure, slightly ironic scenarios. She’s particularly drawn to outsider stories, queer love stories and characters questioning the reality that surrounds them.

Aleksandra is a graduate of The National Film and Television School in the UK where she wrote numerous short films, many of which screened at festivals around the world. Her animated short Crab Day (dir. Ross Stringer) received a BAFTA for Best British Short Animation.

Aleksandra is currently developing both live-action and animated projects for TV and film, including an animated series for kids based on Crab Day and feature film projects with Pulse Films and Barry Crerar.
